The inspiration for this piece: I wanted to paint the other side of my pain. Which was the struggle to live my life happy and not bitter. For many years I was bitter. I struggled with bad relationships. Financial issues and I was traveling down bitter boulevard. I quickly decided to stop traveling down bitter boulevard and turn up happy highway. I actually have SO very much to be happy about. When starting this piece the plan was actually a little different than what you see here. It kind of just had a mind of its own and turned into a beautiful portrait of a woman who chooses bliss over pain. She closes her eyes and is thankful for all she has.
